Michael Keane (michaelk@stonegatewealth.com) represents Stonegate Wealth Management in New England.
Michael has more than twenty-five years’ experience in the financial services industry, both in managing operations units for securities firms (Salomon Brothers Inc and Thomson McKinnon Securities, Inc.) and in consulting on issues of organization and strategy to diversified financial services institutions in the US, the UK, Canada, and Scandinavia in his time at KPMG Consulting and Arthur Andersen Business Consulting.
Michael also served as Managing Consultant of the New Jersey office of Watson Wyatt Worldwide and assisted a number of businesses with strategies for attracting and retaining a talented work force through aligning benefits and compensation practices with corporate performance goals. His clients praise Michael’s integrity, focus on service, responsiveness, and on fulfilling client needs with efficient and appropriate solutions.
He has held Series 7 and Series 63 NASD registrations as well as insurance licenses in Life, Health, and Accident from the states of New York and New Jersey. He also currently holds the Acredited Investment Fiduciary designation (AIF®) which is demonstrates an individual's ability to apply fiduciary practices. Michael has completed his coursework in Financial Planning at DePaul University and is preparing for the Certified Financial Planner ® examination from the CFP Board.
Michael’s education includes degrees from Saint Peter’s College, Duke University, Louvain University in Belgium, and the University of Oslo, Norway. He has significant international work experience. As a dual citizen of the Republic of Ireland and of the United States, Michael is proud of his Irish roots and of the growth opportunities that the US has provided.
Michael and his wife Edie have one child, Karin, who resides in Oslo, Norway, and two grandchildren. Michael and Edie are transplants to the Green Mountain state of Vermont, where they have put into practice their strong beliefs about serving the community. Michael is President of the Board of Directors of the Better Bennington Corporation, a downtown improvement district association, Treasurer and a founding partner of the Shires Media Partnership, owner of radio station WBTN in southwestern Vermont, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Oldcastle Theatre Company, southern Vermont’s Actors’ Equity theatre.
